Position Summary:
Responsible for providing instruction within the Collegiate High School Department. Tutor college math, science, English, or social science in a student-centered learning environment; develop enrichment activities for the course assigned; develop and revise curriculum and course work; serve on College committees as needed and assigned. Participate in student advisement and mentoring activities as needed and assigned.

Job Duties:

Prepare, develop, revise curriculum and course work.

Meet classes as scheduled.

Complete all instruction-related paperwork .

Define and practice a clear communication policy with students (i.e., return student emails and phone calls).

Participate in student advisement and mentoring activities as needed and assigned.

Adhere to the College academic calendar (e.g., with regard to submission of grades, attendance at mandatory events, and required contact hours in courses taught).

Other duties as appropriate to the position.



Minimum Education/Training/Experience:
Associates Degree; Knowledge of Early/Middle College High School programs

Preferred Education/Training/Experience:
Masters; Knowledge of Early/Middle College High School programs; Texas Secondary Teacher Certification; SACS Approved Adjunct

Minimum Knowledge and Skills:
Principles and practices of teaching;
Knowledge of material being taught in the specific course and program area;
Communication, interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with students, coworkers, supervisor, the general public, etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction.
Basic computer literacy sufficient to perform job duties
Knowledge of student engagement techniques, learning styles, retention strategies, and learning-centered philosophy
Knowledge and skills required to effectively tutor college level math, ,science, english or social sciences in a student-centered learning environment;
Experience with or willingness to learn latest teaching/learning technologies and online instruction
Record keeping procedures



Preferred Knowledge and Skills:
SACS Approved Adjunct in the Core High School subject areas (math, English, social science,or science)
